Monthly Newsletter of December 2025

ECONOMIC NEWS
In 2025, Vietnam’s economy recorded strong growth, with GDP expanding approximately 8.02% year-on-year, one of the highest annual rates in the 2011–2025 period, driven by robust industrial production, services, and export activity.
The industrial sector remained a key engine of growth, with industry and construction growing around 8.95%, contributing more than 43% to total economic expansion. Manufacturing and processing—especially in apparel, footwear, furniture, electronics, and other export-oriented goods—continued to expand, reflecting Vietnam’s role as a central manufacturing hub in global supply chains.
On the trade front, Vietnam’s total export-import turnover surpassed US$930 billion in 2025, up about 18.2% year-on-year. Exports reached roughly US$475 billion, with strong gains across multiple product categories, while imports totaled about US$455 billion, reflecting rising demand for raw materials and intermediate goods for manufacturing.
The United States remained the largest export market, and China was the top import source. Industrial output growth – supported by solid export momentum – and continued foreign investment helped sustain overall economic resilience amid global trade uncertainties.
