ECONOMIC NEWS

During the first 11 months, the country’s global trade amounted to approximately US$587.68 billion, indicating a 9 percent decrease compared to the previous year. Export activities experienced a 6.4 percent decline, reaching US$306.06 billion, while imports saw an 11.7 percent reduction, settling at US$281.62 billion, as reported by the General Statistics Office (GSO).

Within this context, 33 products achieved export turnovers surpassing US$1 billion each, contributing to 92.9 percent of the total export value in the Southeast Asian nation. Notably, seven of these products achieved remarkable export turnovers exceeding US$10 billion individually.

Key contributors to the country’s hard currency earnings included electronic products, computers, and spare parts (nearly US$49 billion), phones and spare parts (US$46 billion), machinery and equipment (surpassing US$37 billion), garment and textile (almost US$28 billion), and footwear (exceeding US$17 billion).

NEW LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

Announcement No. 5015/TB-LDTBXH Notification Regarding Lunar New Year and National Day Holidays in 2024 for Officials, Civil Servants, Employees, and Workers

The Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs issued an announcement regarding Lunar New Year and National Day Holidays on November 22, 2023.

In accordance with this, the employer decides to choose the options for the Lunar New Year and National Day holidays in 2024 as follows:

– For the Lunar New Year holiday: choose either 01 day at the end of the Year of the Cat and 04 days at the beginning of the Year of the Dragon, or 02 days at the end of the Year of the Cat and 03 days at the beginning of the Year of the Dragon, or 03 days at the end of the Year of the Cat and 02 days at the beginning of the Year of the Dragon.

– For the National Day holiday: on September 2, 2024, according to the Gregorian calendar, and choose one of the following two days: September 1, 2024, or September 3, 2024, according to the Gregorian calendar.

– Notify the proposed plan for the Lunar New Year and National Day holidays in 2024 to the workers at least 30 days before implementation.

After achieving the Best Tourism Village awarded from UNWTO – the World Tourism Organization, Tan Hoa Commune celebrated the prestigious title locally on November 13 – 14, 2023.
