Guidance for payment of health insurance premiums for foreign employees in HCMC
Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance has just issued Official Dispatch 288 / BHXH-QLT on payment of health insurance for foreign employees.
Pursuant to Official Dispatch 389/BYT-BH of January 31, 2020 of the Ministry of Health answering questions about the payment of health insurance for foreign laborers, the Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance guides the implementation of health insurance for foreign workers such as after:
Foreign workers internally reassigned in the company, who are the managers, chief executive officers, experts and technicians of a foreign enterprise which has established a commercial presence in Vietnam, are temporarily reassigned within the same enterprise to its commercial presence in Vietnam and have been employed by the foreign enterprise for at least 12 months (as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 3 of Decree 11/2016 / ND-CP), are not subject to health insurance.
The time for reducing the process of participation in health insurance is from February 1, 2020 onwards. In case of 02/2020, participants have health insurance card, incurred expenses for medical examination and treatment, the health insurance process will be reduced from 01/3/2020.
It is recommended that units urgently review and make a dossier to adjust the process of participation in health insurance for foreigners under the above regulations and send it to the social insurance agency before March 31, 2020.
